Hey readers! It’s Kamama who is writing this post late at night, so please excuse any strange grammar or errors. This is a short tag, there are only six questions I think, but I am looking forward to it. Let’s jump right in!
A Five Star Book
There are quite a few five star books that I’ve read in my life, but the one that really stands out to me is Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I love this series so much, I can never decide which book in the series is my favorite because there are elements to each one that I absolutely adore!
If you’ve never heard of or read Mistborn, I’ll give you a quick run down. The whole idea of Mistborn is that the bad guy has already won. He is called the “Lord Ruler” and has been the king of the world as we know it for centuries. Our protagonist is Vin, a sixteen year old girl who lives on the streets. Her life changes when Kelsier, a rebel who has had enough of the Lord Ruler’s reign, recruits her to join with him and his crew to end the Lord Ruler and his tyranny.
Always Going To Recommend
I could also answer Mistborn for this question, but since I am not doing repeats for this tag, I am going with The Book Jumper by Mecthild Glaser. I stayed up until one am to finish the book. I couldn't sleep that night because I was thinking about it all night. It had one of the best, most amazing plot twists I have ever read. I totally didn’t see it coming, and then when I realized what was happening, it destroyed my emotions and I almost cried. The plot and the characters were amazing and I loved every second of it. The Book Jumper is horribly underrated so you probably haven’t heard of it, but I will give you a brief description.
We follow Amy who's previously near-perfect life has gone downhill. She and her mother decide to leave their home for a vacation to escape their problems, and end up at her mother’s childhood home. While there, Amy begins to learn the secrets of the island, secrets involving her mother, herself, and the recent mysterious murder that occurred just days before her arrival.
Own It But Haven’t Read It Yet
I have quite a few of these books. Most of them are sequels to books I have already read. Like the second book in The Unwanteds series and the sequel to The Princess Academy. I’m not going to give descriptions of these books because they are sequels and you kind of have to read the books before them to understand what is going on, and of course, the fact that I have not read them yet.
Would Read Again
Again, I have quite a few options here. Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine is one of my go to re-read books when I want to read something but don’t have anything new. Caraval by Stephanie Garber is another book that I have read multiple times. I would like to re-read Mistborn again, but there are so many new books that I want to read as well, it kind of gets pushed to the back of my list unfortunately.
In Another World
I could totally mention another Brandon Sanderson book here, but I will refrain myself. Instead, I am going to give credit to J.R.R Tolkein and his creation of Middle Earth. It is so detailed to the point that he made up an entire language for elves! I know that some people can’t seem to get through his books just because of the sheer size and long descriptions, but you have to give credit to the man, he practically created the concept of worldbuilding! I’m not going to give a description of The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings, because most people already know what it's about, and I have other things to do.
Back On Earth
There are quite a few fantasy books that I own that are set in the real world. The one I am going to be talking about today is Savvy by Ingrid Law. This book is short and sweet and the word I usually use to describe it is wholesome. It’s a cute book. Mibs is our main character, and in her family when somebody turns thirteen they receive a magical power. Mibs’s thirteen birthday is just days away when her dad gets in an accident and is put into the hospital. I don’t want to say anymore because of spoilers.
That was the quick fire fantasy book tag! It took longer than I thought it would, lol! That was probably because I decided to give a detailed description of each book after I mentioned it… Well, no matter! Hope you enjoyed reading this!
Until Next Time!
