Narnia Book Tag

Hi, guys! Today I’m doing another book tag, one that I had a lot of fun doing, not only because of the interesting prompts but also because of what it’s from—Narnia. I love The Chronicles or Narnia, and they stand the test of time, so if you somehow have never read them, you should first go read them and then come back!

Narnia: the magical world you would like to visit

I would love to go to Aerwiar because it just has such cool creatures and people that I would want to meet. Like Artham Wingfeather and Janner and Tink (for anybody who has read the Wingfeather Saga they will know what I mean!). If I came before their time, I would dearly love to meet Ollister Pembrick (iconic!) I would love to visit the Glipwood Forest, and the Glipwood Township, and the Castle Rysen, the Ice Prairies, and so many more. Now, I would die quickly because of all the terrifying creatures like bomnubbles and horned hounds and toothy cows and snickbuzzards, but my short life would be entertaining nonetheless..

The Magician’s Nephew: A book you find underrated

Behold the Dawn by K.M. Weiland. This book. It has adventure and history and intrigue and romance and brotherly love, and it is beautiful. In my opinion, the main character, Marcus Annan, despite his, uh, extremely bad habit of being a mercenary and an assassin. Just take my word for it. The thread of redemption runs strong through this story, along with the struggle of moving past sin and failures. It needs to be talked about more.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: A classic that you love

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Some classics feel stiff and hard to digest, but this one felt like I was stepping into the lives of a real family. Jo feels like a normal person that struggles with many of the same things that I struggle with. Overall, I love how much heart and openness is in this book.

The Horse and His Boy: A book you picked up without knowing what it was about This is hard because I almost always look at the back of the book to read what it is about. But, Sir Knight of the Splendid Way by W.E. Cule was a book like this because it simply had no back and my mom got it for me to read. I simply loved that book, and it is a beautiful allegory for the Christian walk.

Prince Caspian: A sequel you loved

Okay, I’m going back to the Wingfeather Saga again. I loved North! Or Be Eaten… by Andrew Peterson and this was the one that actually got me interested. I realized that the stakes were high and that the world was much larger than the first book. I also loved the character development in this one and the challenges that the characters had to face.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader: A quest you’d like to be a part of

I’ll go classic and say Lord of the Rings. Even though I probably would die very quickly, I would love to be among dear friends on a quest that is treacherous but worthy of risking it all.

The Silver Chair: A book you didn’t expect to love

Heaven’s Wager by Ted Dekker. This book hurt me, but it was probably the first book by Dekker I really enjoyed for the whole story (I liked Chosen, but the other books in that series did not meet my expectations). This one hurt me so much but I loved the story and the journey that Kent goes on. It not only brought me to tears but made me think more deeply about my faith and how the things in this world do not satisfy. This is an intense one, but worth the ride.

The Last Battle: The perfect ending to a series you loved

I will do the Viking Quest series. This ending was so beautiful, close to perfect if not perfect, and it just tied up so many threads. It wasn’t such a complex story, but the way it ended brought together character development and character relationships in such a profound, touching way.

The Pevensies: A siblinghood of friendship that you would like to be apart of

There’s not a lot of great sibling relationships that I can remember in the books I have read, but I do love Janner, Tink and Leeli in the Wingfeather Saga. Their teasing with each other and fierce love for each other is something I wish was more prevalent in books today.

Eustace Scrubb: A character who grew on you

Dalton from Sir Dalton and the Shadow Heart in the Knights of Arrethtrae series. If you haven’t already, go and check out Serena and my reviews on The Knights of Arrethtrae! This particular character annoyed me at the beginning, but in the end, I loved him dearly.

Mr. Tumnus: Your favorite mythical creature

Dragons are up there, but I would argue that dragons are glorified dinosaurs, so are they really mythical? Another cool one is a dryad from Narnia. The idea that there are people trees with leaves in their hair is so cool to me. And in Narnia, they seem to float through the ground or something, and I love that.

Caspian: A character with regal qualities

Bentley from Sir Bentley and Holbrook Court (also from the Knights of Arrethtrae). Even though he actually isn’t royalty, his servant’s heart and love for others and ability to lead are qualities a king should have. He can also tell stories to little kids, which isn’t technically a regal quality but maybe it should be!

Reepicheep: A loyal character

Im going to back to Behold the Dawn (it needs more love anyway) and just rant about Peregrine Marek for a second. He is so loyal and dedicated and will risk his life for people he cares about. There is one scene in particular that he gets injured while trying to protect someone that I just love. Self-sacrifice is one of the best character traits.

The Wardrobe: Your favorite hideout/place to read

Not gonna lie, I am very boring with my book spots. I basically sit on my bed or on the floor and read there. It’s fun though when I position myself partially under the bed and read like that.

I hope y’all enjoyed this book tag! Maybe you could put some of your own answers to these prompts down below in the comments!

Bye for now!
