It has been a tradition of mine for many years to write at least one Christmas poem each year, and this year I have once again kept that tradition. Unfortunately I've had to post it a little bit late as I finished it up late, but I do hope you enjoy! This year, it's a little different than my traditional poem, which focuses more clearly on the nativity story, but it still has its Christmas focus. Merry belated Christmas, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of our Savior!

The Snow Came Down
The snow came down
On a Christmas night
As a little girl watched
Eyes wide with delight
She was then only ten
And the wonder had not gone
She stood at the window
As the snow danced on.
The snow came down
She sat by the fire
Reading the Story
With her brother beside her
Though this night was the twelfth
Of the Christmases she knew
The Story still filled her
With joy of the truth.
The snow came down
Like the tears on her face
Her brother is gone
She knows not to what place
Her joy has faded
For a first Christmas day
She feels abandoned
Alone and betrayed.
The snow came down
And the girl is gone
Her brother watches it fall
This time, alone
Tears roll down his cheeks
As he hopes and he prays
That she will return,
Come home someday.
The snow came down
As the young girl watched
She is a different girl now
But no longer lost
The miracle of Christmas
Brings her to her knees
She knows who she was,
And who set her free.
The snow came down
Night of Emmanuel’s birth
The One and only savior
Born to die for us on earth
Wonder fills her heart
Like never before
The girl is in tears
For the gift of her Lord.
Aww I love this!
