On this night as snowflakes play
Carpeting the earth.
On this night as fires blaze
Crackling on the hearth.
On this night as children rise
Tender voices sing.
On this night we walk the streets
Gladly caroling—
This Christmas
On that night now far away
Visiting the earth.
On that night the angels praised
Messiah’s birth.
On that night among the skies
A star shining.
On that night an infant sleeps
Our Savior King—
That Christmas.
On this night by candlelight
Remember our Lord.
On this night the tale is taught—
Told from the Word.
On this night praise the King
With heart and soul.
On this night give Him your all—
You can give no more
On Christmas.
On that night the heavens bright
Proclaim the Lord.
On that night three kings they brought
A priceless hoard.
On that night the joyful kings
The babe extol.
On that night hark to the call:
“Come, let us adore!”
Each Christmas.
